Storylines come easy for me however I always gravitate towards complex stories.
I didn’t consider writing professionally to be a viable career until a few semesters into college, I viewed myself pessimistically and I believed I didn’t have that much talent as a writer and despite excelling in english classes in high school, I believed that the only thing you could do with an English degree was to teach.
This mentality changed midway through my time in the Fire Science major where I realized I would not be happy as a firefighter and I opted to try out different classes to see what I wanted to do. I took a creative writing class with my late mentor Mark McKinnon who made me recognize my talent for writing and thus my dream was born: To be a writer for a video game company. In 2018, I had a vivid dream that led to the birth of what would become the most ambitious project of my lifetime, the Dim Saga.
Screams echoed down the golden halls of Heaven’s mobile headquarters, home to the HIDE Agency (Higher Investigations of Demonic Entities). What was once an untouchable location was now the center of an attack by unknown assailants. A white-robed man frantically yelled through an intercom, while a transparent giant orb rested behind him. The facility had never been under attack before. The guards had grown lax and were unprepared for an assault on what was thought to be an impenetrable defense.
A young man’s voice wavered over the intercom, Eastern entrance has been breached, and a swarm of Demons is coming in from the east………..
